Project overview

We were commissioned by Bradt Guides to design both the August and September 2022 issues of the Travel Club E-Magazine. The Travel Club was launched in May 2020, during the early months of the COVID-19 crisis. They responded with the initiative when people asked how they could support the company during a very difficult time.

With different membership tiers available, members receive a wide range of benefits. Benefits that include in-depth articles, interviews, recipes, quizzes and exclusive discounts. With the Travel Club E-Magazine in-circulation since May 2020, we were able to view a wide range of back issues to get a sense of how the magazine should look, read and feel to the subscriber.

E-Magazine design thinking

We were supplied with the E-magazine design template and a brand guidelines document to follow. Using an easy reading sans serif font for the body copy alongside a beautiful serif font for the headings. Selecting a small colour palette from the provided photography to fit in with the theme of the issue. Tying the colour palette in with the overall look and theme of the issue.

Using photos of beautiful locations from across the globe in a variation of sizes. Allowing the images to transport the reader to different locations around world. As part of the design process we worked closely with the team at Bradt Guides. Making sure that we followed the brand guidelines and were able to follow the design of previous issues. Working together we were able to put the 64 page E-Magazine together in a tight production schedule.
