BeachSeventySix are a socially conscious sustainable swimwear brand that are committed to the environmental cause. Sourcing sustainable fabrics for their products & packaging and only using factories that uphold workers’ rights. They focus on being inclusive through the design of their products and using real women in their advertising campaigns.

Graphic design that captivates the target audience

Our design thinking

We were approached by BeachSeventySix to craft a look book brochure layout design for their upcoming collection of socially conscious sustainable swimwear. They wanted to showcase their new collection using a very visual design style.

 

Designing a visually stunning look book

 

The brief stated that they wanted a brochure layout that would showcase their collection using large imagery and the use of a modern typeface. We kicked the project off by having an in-depth look at the brand, specifically looking at their website, where their collection is stocked and the age group the brand appeals to.

 

From that initial research we could start to look at some page layouts and the type of typography we could use. This would give us an idea of what the visual design of the look book would look like.

Visual design that leaves a strong impression

The design solution

We started looking at various designs for the brochure layout, using photography provided by BeachSeventySix. The shoot had previously taken place out in Dubai, using everyday women to model their range. With a wide range of great photos for each product to choose from, we were able to build a page layout around them.

 

Selecting a modern typeface that would pair well with beautiful photography

 

We chose a beautiful modern sans-serif typeface for the typography. Choosing the typeface for great readability, running the product name and description vertically down the page. We decided to keep the use of colour down to a minimum, keeping the focus on the product imagery.
